Automation or AI? Start With the Task

"We need AI" is usually the wrong starting point. Show me the task first. Then we can decide what should handle it.

When plain automation is enough

If the steps and exceptions can be written down as rules, regular automation can follow them. For example: an order arrives with the required details, the system creates a record and sends a confirmation. Same input, same checks, same result.

Sometimes two tools pass information through an API. Sometimes they use another connection. The way they talk to each other matters to the build, but it is not the reason to buy AI.

When AI helps

AI is useful when the input is less tidy. A customer writes an email in their own words, attaches a document and asks for something the system needs to interpret. AI can extract details, draft a response or suggest where the request belongs.

It can also get things wrong. We set rules for what it can do, test the awkward cases and decide which decisions still need a person.

Most useful builds combine them

At Moto Transportation, we use AI to read incoming requests and automation to move the right information into the right places. People still handle judgement calls and exceptions.

Start with a real task that eats time. We will tell you whether it needs rules, AI or both. See what we have built.
